Work Life: Concert Day

8:00 AM

Day in the Life - Development Assistant

Event - Abbey Road Live
YOSA Philharmonic and 12 local bands covered The Beatles' famous album, Abbey Road.

After 3 months of hard work and long work hours, our small staff was able to put together an amazing show!

It was a crazy but typical concert day, running last minute errands, redoing the guest list multiple times, and making sure the guests and artists have a good time. So yeah, this is how my (little over) 16 hour work day went:
  • 8:30am - Arrive at work and answer emails from sponsors, board members, and guest artists
  • 9 - 11:00am - Run to HEB to pick up enough food for 88 band members and drop off at the Tobin Center hospitality room.
  • 11-2:00pm - Finish up decor for the after party
  • 2-3:00pm - Finish afterparty "Run of Event" and pass them out to staff
  • 3:00 - 5:30 - Start setting up for afterparty
  • 5:30 - 7:00 - Change clothes and go to Tobin Center to set up red carpet area
  • 7:00 - Meet with vendors and go over linguistics
  • 8:00 - 9:00 - Watch some of the concert
  • 9:00- 11:30pm - Work afterparty
  • 11:30pm - 1:00am - Clean up and go home

This is from the afterparty. These photos sum up our relationship. Lol

Also, shout out to Lundy for coming to help after he worked a 14 hour day at the hospital.
You're the real MVP.
